You don't need someone to tell you what to do.
You need somewhere to think.
Beside you, not above you
On the farm, almost every relationship you have is vertical.
Employees who need direction.
Family who needs a decision.
The bank, the inspector, the buyer, all of them waiting on you to be the one who knows.
Nobody is standing next to you. Beside you. Just thinking.
That's the gap coaching fills.
A coach isn't above you telling you what to do. A coach isn't below you needing direction from you either.
A coach is beside you.
Same level. Just thinking it through, together.
I call it being a horizontal thinking partner.
My client Crystal says it simpler: "A thoughtful mirror and a steady guide."
Holding a thought up to the light
Half the weight you're carrying isn't decisions.
It's undecided thoughts.
Tangled up together, all talking at once, and you haven't had a minute to hold any single one up to the light and actually look at it.
Just like before any egg goes in the carton, you candle it. You hold it up to a light and look inside.
Not guessing from the shell. Actually checking.
Coaching works the same way with your thoughts.
We pick one up. Hold it to the light.
Look at what's actually inside it, not what it looked like from across the room.
Keep it if it's solid. Set it down if it's not.
You leave with fewer thoughts. Not more advice.
“Somebody who understands what you're doing, asking questions so you can find the answers to your situation yourself.”

What clients notice first
What you walk away with looks different for everyone.
For some clients it's confidence.
For some it's just clarity, and trusting their own read of a situation again.
For most, it's momentum, moving forward on something that had been stuck for months.
Nobody's ever told me coaching gave them more to carry.
Every time, it's less.
What this isn't
It's not therapy.
(Though more than one client has half-joked it's therapy for their business).
And it's not somebody standing over your shoulder telling you what to do.
What it is instead
It's somewhere to think, out loud, with somebody paying enough attention to ask the right next question.
Curious what working with me actually looks like?
What a free chat is like?
What a session feels like?
How to get started?
It's all right here.
No rush. No hassle. I'll be here.
